A truly inspiring setting for a painting retreat, Venice is world renown for its rich cultural history, extraordinary architecture and abundant art treasures. Called the "City of Bridges" and “City of Water”, Venice’s unrivaled setting and magical atmosphere offers a visual feast for artists.

In addition to seeing some of the best museums and iconic sites of Venice, we will also attend the 60th Venice Biennale. The Venice Biennale is widely considered the definitive international showcase for contemporary art worldwide and includes a central exhibit curated by the artistic director, national pavilions hosted by individual nations, and independent exhibits spread throughout Venice.

Morning excursions include visits to the historic Palazzo Ducale in the Piazza San Marco, Venice Biennale exhibits in the Giardini and Arsenale, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection at the Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, and more.

Daily painting sessions are held at the Don Orione Artigianelli complex where you can choose to paint in the Sala Atelier, our dedicated studio space, or outdoors in the garden cloisters.

Sketching opportunities can be found as we visit local landmarks.

Accommodations

Centro Culturale Don Orione Artigianelli is a restored historic monastery located in the heart of Venice in the Sestiere di Dorsoduro on the Guidecca Canal.

Cost / Tuition

$3950 per person includes tuition, room & board, entrance fees to sites, museums, and local transport by Vaporetto (cost is based on double occupancy and does not include airfare.)
